FIT 2 PATRICK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT DOCKET NO. 50-333 ATTACli>ENT TO LER 79-038/03L-0 Page 1 of 1 While in a cold shutdown condition, during the calibration of instrument 02-TIC-200, the instrument could not be demonstrated to be within calibration. Since the referenced instrument provides indication and control of the sixteen (16) Main Steam Line Tunnel High Temperature Detectors (02-TS-121A through 02-TS-124D) these instruments can not be demonstrated fully operable as re-quired by Technical Specifications Appendix A, Table 4.2-1. The controller requires off-site calibration or repair before a complete calibration, or calibration check, of the associated detectors can be completed. ~ The controller has not been returned to the site at the date of this report. Therefore, a follow-up report will be submitted when the corrective action is completed. The event occurred while the reactor was in a cold shutdown condition. In add.ition, a review of prior surveillance records indicates that.r.ost of the sixteen (16) Main Steam Line Tunnel High Temperature Detectors will be shown to be within the limits of Technical Specifications, therefore, the event does not represent any ha:ard to the pu'ulic health and safety.
