CAUSE
DESCRIPTION AND CORRECTIVE ACTION.
Leakage was from the compressor head,.Via the seal between the liead and the diaphragm (ref'er to attached vendor drawing)~ Two possible causes have., been assessed: non-unif'orm.
t.ightening* d~ *the compressor head bolts which could. result in cocking of the COJ11,pressor*head, or dirt on the diaphragm-to-head* seating surface. All previous maintenance has been:- perfo~e*d by reference to the vendor's technical ma.Iiual (manuf'acturer: H. Corblin; Paris, France)
- addresses cl.eanliness and uniform bolt tightening;* however, to provide p9sitive controls over maintenance activities related ~o waste gas compressors c:..50.A' and C.-50B a maintenance procedure will be developed.
The procedure will require., as a minimum,* proper head bolt torguing, verification of seating surface cleanliness, and a post-maintenance leakage.test.
