SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE DOCKET NO. 50-251 UNIT Turke Point 4

DATE December 10 1992 COMPLETED BY:G. Herbenick TELEPHONE:

305 246-7112 REPORT MONTH November 1992 On November 11th, Unit 4 reduced power to 60% due to a turbine runback caused by the tripping of the 4B feedwater pump. Unit 4 returned to 100% power the same day.

Due to high sodium levels in the steam generator, on November 14th, Unit 4 reduced power to 73% and continued to reduce power through November 15th to 30%

This was caused by a check valve failure which introduced component cooling water containing sodium into the demineralized water storage tank.

On November 17th, Unit 4 returned to 100% power and maintained that level for the remainder of the month.
