The purpose of this letter is to request additional information regarding the Emergency Power System (EPS)
Enhancement Project so that we can complete our review in a timely manner.
In your submittal dated June 23, 1988, as supplemented April 3, 1989, you provided the EPS Enhancement Report to the NRC staff.
Your subsequent letter dated December 14, 1988 detailed the FPL licensing approach for this Project and made clear that NRC review of the June 23, 1988 submittal was desired.
Our earlier request for additional information, dated January 6,
- 1989, was followed by your responses dated February 24 and March 20, 1989.
In order to complete our review, we require the additional information described in the enclosure.
This information was discussed ear lier with Mr. T. Grozan of your staff.
Please provide your responses to the requests in the enclosure within 30 d@s of the date of this letter.
The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than 10 respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P.L.96-511.

- Project, to the interfaces of the SSC with the existing p1ant, and to the interfaces with the existing plant of those SSC that are to be relocated or reconnected.

Your response dated March 20, 1989 (letter L-89-107) repeatedly referenced the ANSI B31.1 code as a design basis for diesel generator'iping.
Please specify the edition of this code on which you rely.

Please specify the criteria for acceptability of the piping vibration (during testing) for piping attached to the diesel generators.

In the structural area, please address the seismic input used in the ana lysi s.
