STATUS UPDATE AND SCHEDULE REVISION FOR THE REVIEW OF THE WATERFORD STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNIT 3, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (CAC NOS. MF7492 AND MF7493)
Dear Mr. Chisum:
By letter dated March 23, 2016, Entergy Operations, Inc. (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML16088A324) submitted an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 54, to renew the operating license NPF-38 for Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3. The application is currently under review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff).
The environmental review milestones have been revised due to unanticipated resource constraints and competing priorities. Enclosed is a revised schedule for the review of the Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3, LRA. Schedule dates for issuing the safety evaluation report (SER) with open item, ACRS interactions, final SER issuance, and NRR Directors Decision are based on an assumption that the license amendment associated with plant specific approval of the RAPTOR methodology is issued in December 2018. Change to this assumption may result in additional schedule revisions.
