SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT RELATED TO THE LICENSE RENEWAL OF WATERFORD STEAM ELECTRIC STATION, UNIT 3 (CAC NO. MF7492)
Dear Mr. Dinelli:
By letter dated March 23, 2016 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16088A331), Entergy Operations, Inc. (the applicant) submitted a license renewal application (LRA) pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Part 54, to renew operating licenses NPF-38 for Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (WF3) for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC or the staff). The staff determined that the LRA was complete and acceptable for docketing on May 20, 2016.
The staff has reviewed the WF3 LRA and has developed the enclosed Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of Waterford Steam Electric Station, Unit 3 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18228A668), hereinafter referred to as the Safety Evaluation Report (SER).
This SER reflects completion of the staffs evaluation.
The next milestone for this project is the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards Subcommittee meeting on September 20, 2018. Although this SER is considered final, changes to it may be necessary following review by the ACRS, as necessary, to address ACRS comments.
