WNP-2, OPERATING LICENSE NPF-21 REQUEST FOR AMENDMENT TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS 3/4.3.7.5, 3/4.4.2, AND 3/4.5.1 FOR MAIN STEAM RELIEF VALVE POSITION INDICATION SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION

Reference:

Letter GO2-93-281, dated December 6, 1993, JV Parrish (SS) to NRC, "Request for Amendment to Technical Specifications for Main Steam Relief" The purpose of this letter is to clarify the intent of the Supply System's request for amendment to Technical Specifications for main steam relief valve position indication submitted by the referenced letter. This request consists of proposed changes to Technical Specifications 3/4.3.7.5, "Accident Monitoring Instrumentation," 3/4.4.2, "Safety/Relief Valves," and 3/4.5.1, "Emergency Core Cooling Systems." These proposed changes require modification of Bases section 3/4.4.2. The proposed changes would clarify the operating conditions required for Safety Relief Valve (SRV) and Automatic Depressurization System SRV surveillance testing.

The current Technical Specifications and Bases are provided in Attachment 1 with the proposed changes annotated. Additional detail is provided in Attachment 2.

Granting the request involves no adverse safety impact and does not involve a significant hazards consideration.
