OF JUNE 24, 1982 MEETING CONCERNING AUXILIARY FEEDWATER HEADER DAMAGE IN CERTAIN B&W PLANTS On June 24, 1982, a meeting was hd1d at the NRC offices in Bethesda, Maryland to discuss the licensees repair program for the damaged internal auxiliary feedwater headers. The briefing was presented by representatives of Babcock & Wilcox Company on behalf of the three licensees. The briefing included a discussion of the results from the most recent inspections at the three affected plants. The material presented is summarized in Enclosure 2.

I BOTTOM AND TOP HEADER PLATES ARE SOUND. BOTTOM PLATE IS STILL 3/8" NOMINAL THICKNESS WITH NO REPORTABLE UT INDICATIONS (40% SAMPLING OF EXPOSED PLATE SURFACE)
I HEADER WAS IN CONTACT WITH THE PERIPHERAL TUBES IN THE AREA BETWEEN THE X AXIS AND THE BRACKET BETWEEN THE X AND Y AXIS. THIS IS TRUE MORE AT THE TOP OF THE HEADER THAN BOTTOM I VERTICAL GAP BETWEEN HEADER AND SHROUD RANGES FROM 0 TO 3/4 INCHES I STEAM GENERATOR SHELL AND AFW NOZZLE REGION FREE OF UT INDICATIONS I ALL MISSING BRACKETS AND, ALL BUT ONE DOWELL PIN HAVE BEEN LOCATED:AND RETRIEVEWUTODATE'. NO DOW'EL PINS IN TUBE BUNDLE.
