Western Illinois University - M.S. Environmental Biology - 1974 Michigan State University - B.S. Zoology - 1970 Mr. Krause has worked in environmental permitting and compliance for more than 40 years. For the past several years, he has supervised environmental activities on all of Sargent & Lundy's nuclear licensing projects, as well as site selection, transmission line routing, and other types of environmental studies. In this capacity, he assesses the environmental impacts of constructing and operating power plants, electric transmission lines, substations, and associated facilities.

He also identifies applicable regulatory requirements, plans compliance strategies, and coordinates the preparation of environmental permit applications. He meets with regulatory agencies and evaluates the impact of existing and proposed regulations on project activities.

He also ensures that the activities of interdisciplinary project teams comply with schedule, budget, and project scope requirements. He has participated in 28 power plant siting studies and 17 transmission line studies in 31 states and 5 foreign countries. He has managed the preparation of environmental impact assessments for submittal to federal and state regulatory agencies, and he has coordinated the preparation of permit applications for all aspects of power plant construction and operation, including Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD), Non-Attainment Area New Source Review (NAA-NSR), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), and construction in wetlands permits.
