Th is refers to an investigation conducted by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission 's (NRC) Office of Investigations regarding activities at Cooper Nuclear Station. The Office of Investigations initiated the investigation to determine whether a quality control inspector, employed by Carolina Energy Solutions-System One, at Cooper Nuclear Station , Brownville, Nebraska, was the subject of discrimination for rai sing safety concerns regarding an observation of a welder performing improper procedures on a weld .

Based on the evidence developed during th e investigation , the allegation that a quality control inspector, employed by Carolina Energy Solutions-System One, at Cooper Nuclear Station was the subject of discrimination for raising safety concerns regarding an observation of a welder performing improper procedures on a weld was not substantiated . The NRC plans no further action related to the discrimination aspect of this allegation and considers this investigation closed.
