Letters from Duke Energy to NRC, same subject, dated May 20, 2010 and January 19, 2011 The reference letter dated May 20, 2010 requested amendments to Catawba Facility Operating Licenses NPF-35 and NPF-52 and the subject TS. These amendment requests proposed to revise the subject TS to allow the reactor building pressure boundary to be opened under administrative controls. The reference letter dated January 19, 2011 provided Part 1 of a two-part response to NRC Requests for Additional Information (RAIs). Duke Energy previously indicated in a telephone conference call with the NRC that Part 2 of the response would be provided by February 1,2011.

At this time, Duke Energy has elected to withdraw the subject amendment request.

Duke Energy is notifying the State of South Carolina of this amendment request withdrawal by transmitting a copy of this letter to the designated state official.
