OF TELEPHONE CONFERENCE CONDUCTED ON OCTOBER 4, 2004, WITH CONSTELLATION ENERGY GROUP TO DISCUSS THE SEVERE ACCIDENT MITIGATION ALTERNATIVES (SAMA) REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION (RAIs) FOR NINE MILE POINT UNITS 1 AND 2 (TAC NOS. MC3274 AND MC3275)
On October 4, 2004, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and its contractors from Information Systems Laboratory (ISL) conducted a telephone conference call with representatives from the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station (NMPNS) to discuss the SAMA RAIs for Nine Mile Point, Units 1 and 2. The NRC staff formally sent SAMA RAIs to Constellation Energy Group Inc. by letter dated October 20, 2004. The telephone conference was held to clarify the RAIs. Enclosure 1 contains the list of participants.
For each of the questions discussed NRC staff provided information to help clarify each question. NMPNS agreed to provide the answers to the questions in a timely manner to support the schedule for publication of the draft supplemental environmental impact statement.
No staff decisions were made during the telephone conference. NMPNS indicated that they plan to submit the responses to the RAIs by December 2004.
