Inspection Review (IP Section 02.01-02.11) (1 Sample)
- (1) The inspectors evaluated the biennial radiological emergency preparedness exercise on March 1, 2022. The exercise scenario simulated an event at the Braidwood Station that initiated with the declaration of an Alert in response to an earthquake that resulted in a loss of offsite power. The scenario conditions simulated the escalation of the significance of the event, requiring the declaration of a Site Area Emergency, for a steam generator tube rupture and loss of heat sink. Each emergency classification was communicated to the required state and local government agencies.
