Inspection and Enforcement Bulletins IEB 79-04
" Incorrect Weights for Swing Check Valves Manufactured by Velan Engineering Corporation." Subject valves are used in the Component Cooling and bot?n Thermal Regenera-ticn Systems at Braidwood. Evaluations by Velan through recalculation and/or actual weighing of the valves has confirmed that the valve weights shown on the drawings and used in the piping analysis for these systems are correct. This bulletin is closed.
" Failures of GE Type AK-2 Circuit Breakers in Safety Related Systems." The GE Type AK-2 circuit breakers are not equipped with integral undervoltage trip devices at Braidwood. The AK-2 breakers are used in the 125 VDC system and are equipped for overcurrent trip only. This bulletin is closed.
IEB 79-03A
" Longitudinal Weld Defects in ASME SA 312 Type 304 Stainless Steel Pipe." The inspector examined documen-tation confirming that no ASME SA 312 seau welded stainless pipe had been shipped to the site nor was any ASME SA 312 seam welded stainless steel pipe at the pipe fabricators plant consigned to the Braidwood site. This bulletin is closed.
"Possible Malfunction of NAMCO Model EA 180 Limit Switches at Elevated Temperatures." Licensee has initiated replacement of the limit switch top cover
,
gasket on switches identified as having safety related applications as wiring is connected to each switch.
The replacement of cover gaskets is called out on Revision C of S&L drawing 0-3390A and procedure check-lists prepared by the electrical contractor for docu-menting the replacement of the gaskets. This bulletin is closed.
" Examination of Containment Liner Penetration Welds."

This bulletin is closed.
" Failures of Mercury-Wetted Matrix Relays in Reactor
'
Protective Systems." The inspector examined documenta-tion confirming that C.P. Clare Model HG2X-1011 Mercury-wetted Matrix relays are not used in the Braidwood reactor protective systems. This bulletin is closed.

Grouting of Safety-Related Equipment No safety-related grouting activities were in progress during this inspection. The inspector observed completed work on switchgear and equipment foundations and reviewed quality assurance documents appli-cable to safety-related grouting.
Certificates of conformance from grout manufacturer at testing that grout conformed to Corps of Engineers specification for non-thrink grout CRD-C88-79 were available at the site for EMBECO 636 and Masterflow 713 grouts. Review of break records for eight 91-day grout cube breaks indicate that break strengths exceeded the required strengths for both grout types.
No items of noncompliance or deviations were identified.
