(Closed) Unresolved Item (8431-0-02): This item was identified in NRC Inspection Report 50-445/84-31. During a review of completed preoperational tests, the RRI identified a test procedure change that deleted the verification of the Condensate Transfer Pump Low Suction Pressure Alarm (1-XA-2490). The change stated that the alarm was a pump-motor overcurrent alarm and not a suction pressure low alarm.

l i

The response to the unresolved item was reviewed by the RRI during the inspection period of NRC Inspection Report 50-445/85-11. The RRI concluded that the response adequately explained the unresolved item;

however, the test documents in the vault had not been supplemented to the i test repor The supplemental documentation has been added to the completed test report. This item is close (Closed) Open Item (8436-0-01)
During a verification review of open Safety Evaluation Report (SER) Confirmatory Issues conducted during the reporting period of NRC Inspection Report 50-445/84-36, it was noted that the-applicant had not yet prepared a summary report on the ECCS testing.

-3-The report titled " Emergency Core Cooling System Summary Report," issue date June 9, 1986, has now been prepared and has been included in the preoperational test ICP-PT-57-07, " Integrated Safety Injection Normal Power." The NRC inspector has verified that the report accurately reflects the testing and test conclusions as stated in the individual ECCS preoperational tests. This item is close (0 pen) Unresolved Items (8502-U-07 and 8502-U-09): These two unresolved items were identified in NRC Inspection P.eport 50-445/85-02. The two items are interrelated, in that they pertainet to tests of the diesel generator which contained so many blurred pen and ink Tast Procedure Deviations and Test Deficiency Reports that the NRC insoectors were unable to determine if the completed test met the test objectivu The applicant has proposed to repeat test IG-PT-29-03, RT-1 when NRC approval is received to operate at full rated load. The diesel generator is presently limited to 185 brake mean effective pressure. Reperformance of the test will resolve the unresolved iten. However, the applicant has not proposed a resolution if the NRC does r.ot allow testing and operation at full power. To resolve this issue, the applicant is requested to address this aspect of retesting. This item will remain ope No violations or deviations were identifie . Plant Tours The NRC inspector made numerous plant inspection tours during this reporting period. Specific attention was given to the protection and preservation of components and systems due to the lengthy equipment idle time presently being experience The NRC inspector verified that the general area cleanliness had been maintained; that equipment was free of rust, oil and dirt; that safety-related areas were free of debris; and that there was no improper material storage or fire hazards presen Also noted was work being performed to correct the seismic mounting problems of the Class IE 6.9kv switchgear (see NRC Inspection Report 50-445/87-03; 50-446/87-03 fordetails). At the time of the observations, the switchgear cubicles had been removed and concrete chipping was in progress. The NRC inspector verified that the cubicles were properly covered to prevent concrete dust entry and adequate dust control measures were in effect. Also, the determinated cables were inspected and verified to be adequately protected from the work in progres No violations or deviations were identifie .- .
