e EXECUTIVE SUMMARY LaSalle Nuclear Generating Station, Units 1 and 2 NRC Inspection Reports 50-373/97009; 50-374/97009 This inspection included a review of the plant security program to include the exterior protected area alarm system, the testing and maintenance program, and alarm stations and communications. The report covered a one week inspection concluding on June 13, 1997.
Plant Sypoort The protected area intrusion detection system was functional, effective and well
maintained. (Section S2.4)
The picture quality of some surveillance devices was minimally effective. (Section
S1.2)
I Alarm station operators used appropriate procedures for assessing and responding

A portion of the perimeter lighting was not maintained in an effective condition and
this affected the surveillance capability. Efforts to correct this problem were not timely. (Section S1.3)
