UPDATED INSPECTION PLAN FOR LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2 (REPORT 05000352/2025005 AND 05000353/2025005)
Dear David Rhoades:
The enclosed inspection plan lists the inspections scheduled through June 30, 2027, for Limerick Generating Station, Units 1 and 2. The NRC provides the inspection plan to allow for the resolution of any scheduling conflicts and personnel availability issues. Routine inspections performed by resident inspectors are not included in the inspection plan. The inspections listed during the last 12 months of the inspection plan are tentative and may be revised. As discussed in SECY-25-0045, Recommendations for Revising the Reactor Oversight Process, dated June 5, 2025 (ML25042A278), the NRC determined that a broad, comprehensive review of the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP) is necessary to reflect improvements in industry performance and advancements in technology. The outcome of the comprehensive review and recommendations to revise the ROP baseline inspection program, when approved by the NRC Commission, will require a revision to this inspection plan. The NRC will contact you as soon as possible to discuss any revisions after the new baseline inspection program is implemented.
The NRC will also be performing an inspection of your modification of instrumentation and control systems to digital in accordance with Inspection Procedure 52003, Digital Instrumentation and Control Modification Inspection. The specific schedule to be used for this inspection is being developed by NRC staff to coincide with specific milestones and activities in your project plan. NRC staff will communicate the specific schedule with you as it is identified.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records (PARS) component of NRC's document system (ADAMS). ADAMS is accessible from the NRC Website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html (the Public Electronic Reading Room).
