FERMI POWER PLANT NRC INITIAL LICENSE EXAMINATION REPORT 050000341/2006302(DRS)
Dear Mr. Cobb:
On August 8, 2006, members of the Fermi Power Plant Training staff administered the written retake examination to two Reactor Operator (RO) applicants who had previously failed the written examination administered on March 10, 2006. The results of the examination were finalized on August 16, 2006, showing the applicants passed the written examination. The applicants previously passed the operating test administered the week of March 6, 2006, and therefore, have now passed all sections of the license examination. The enclosed report documents the results of the examination which were discussed on August 16, 2006, with Mr. Edwin Kokosky, and with other members of your staff.

Examination Report.
The operator licensing written retake examination was administered by the licensee in accordance with the guidance of NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Revision 9.
Examination Summary:
- A written retake examination was administered to two Reactor Operator (RO) applicants on August 8, 2006.
- The two applicants passed the written examination. The applicants passed the operating test administered the week of March 6, 2006, and therefore, have now passed all sections of their examination. The applicants were issued the applicable operator licenses on August 22, 2006.

.1 Initial Licensing Examinations
a. Examination Scope
The licensee wrote and administered an NRC approved written retake examination on August 8, 2006. The NRC outline and written examination was written and reviewed using the guidance established in NUREG-1021, Operator Licensing Examination Standards for Power Reactors, Revision 9.
b. Findings
There were no post-examination comments from the written examination.
The applicants previously passed the operating exam that was administered during the week of March 6, 2006. The applicants were granted a waiver for the operating test.
Each applicant successfully passed the written examination.
.2 Examination Security
a. Inspection Scope
The NRC examiners briefed the facility contact on the NRCs requirements and guidelines related to examination physical security (e.g., access restrictions). The licensee implemented examination security and integrity measures (e.g., security agreements) in accordance with licensee procedures.
b. Findings
No findings were noted in this area.
4OA6 Meetings
Exit Meeting The chief examiner conducted a telephone exit meeting on August 16, 2006, with Mr. E. Kokosky and other members of the Training Department staff.
