The senior operator candidate was knowledgeable of and sensitive to required Technical Specification actions upon loss of certain instrument inputs to the Remote Shutdown Panel (C-21).
Lack of this sensitivity on the part of licensed operators had recently contributed to an event of similar nature at Millstone Unit 2.

Summary of NRC Comments made at exit interview: The NRC gave no results of the operating examinations.
The NRC discussed the methods presently being employed to conduct a formal evaluation of the licensee's 1986 operating and written requalification examinations. At the time of this exit meeting, the operating examina-tions were completed and written examinations scheduled for early January 1987 with NRC review being conducted throughout. The details of this evaluation will be issued under a separate report (No. 336/86-25 [0L]). The results of a performance based requalification program inspection were discussed. These results have been turned over to the Senior Resident Inspector for inclusion in the monthly inspection report.
