Subject: Inspection Number 50-333/92-05 This refers to the safety inspection conducted by Mr. R. A. McBrearty of this office on February 24-28,1992 of activities authorized by the NRC and to the discussions of our fmdings held by Mr. McBrearty with Mr. R. Liseno at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector. The inspe: tion was directed toward the inservice inspection program and related activities, and the balance of plant-piping erosion / corrosion program.
At the time of this inspection,' the results of the ultrasonic examination of the reactor pressure vessel head were inconclusive, and required further examination to assess the acceptability of-the component. We noted that your staff had planned for sufficient followup examination to be conducted.
