Inspection 50-322/81-02 This refers to your letter dated April 27, 1981, in response to our letter dated April 1,1981. Thank you for providing the information regarding the apparent item of noncompliance detailed in the above Inspection Report.
Subsequent to the receipt of your letter, our inspector performed system walk-downs, in company with your representatives as described in paragraph 2 of in-spection report 50-322/81-06.
Our inspector also identified an additional small bore piping valve,1831*A0V-082, which was located over 50 feet from the con-tainment penetration and which also does not appear to be located as close as practical to containment.
Based on this information, we understand that you have committed to:
1) develop specific criteria for placing small bore contain-ment isolation valves as close to containment as practical; 2) review each small bore line penetrating prin;ary containment against these criteria; and 3) take whatever action is indicated necessary as a result of the review.
If our under-standing is incorrect, please inform us as soon as possible.
