Inspection 50-286/81-14 This refers to the special safety inspection conducted by Mr. K. Plumlee of this office on October 22 and 23, 1981 at the Indian Point 3 Nuclear Power Plant, Buchanan, New York, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-64 and to the discussions of our findings held by Mr. Plumlee with yourself and others of your staff on October 23, 1981.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel, measurements made by the inspector, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no items of noncompliance were observed.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a), a copy of this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room unless you notify this office, by telephone, within ten days of the date of this letter and submit written application to withhold information contained therein within thirty days of the date of this letter. Such application must be consistent with the requirements of 2.790(b)(1).
No reply to this letter is required; however, should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to discuss them with you.
