PRAIRIE ISLAND NUCLEAR GENERATING PLANT, INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE INSTALLATION NRC SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 05000282/2016408(DNMS); 05000306/2016408(DNMS); AND 07200010/2016401(DNMS)
Dear Mr. Northard:
On November 17, 2016, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a security inspection of the Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) at the Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant (PINGP) Welch, Minnesota. At the conclusion of the inspection on November 17, 2016, the inspector discussed the inspection findings with you and members of your security and licensing staff.
The inspection also examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security for the ISFSI and compliance with the NRCs rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results.
No findings were identified during this inspection.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 2.390 of the NRCs Rules of Practice, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRCs Public Document Room or from the NRC's Agencywide Documents Access
Enclosure Contains Sensitive Unclassified Non-Safeguards Information. When separated from enclosure, this transmittal document is decontrolled. and Management System (ADAMS), accessible from the NRCs website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. However, because of the security-related discussion contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letters enclosure will not be available for public inspection.
