NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-269/95-09, 50-270/95-09 AND 50-287/95-09 Gentlemen:

This concerns your response of July 21, 1995, denying Deviation 50-269,270,287/95-09-02, Solenoid Valves Associated With Main Steam Stop Valves Are Not Safety-Related. Subsequent to issuance of the Notice of Deviation on June 21, 1995, you submitted a supplemental response to Generic Letter (GL) 83-28, Required Actions Based On Generic Implications Of The Salem ATWS Event. This supplemental response amended the original GL submittal which had declared that portions of the Main Steam System, including the Main Steam Stop Valves, were safety-related. The NRC review and approval of the supplemental GL response is detailed in NRC Safety Evaluation Report, GL 83-28 Supplemental Response - Oconee Units 1, 2 and 3, dated August 3, 1995. This amendment, in effect, obviates the Deviation.
