POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2NRC SECURITY BASELINE INSPECTION REPORT 05000266/2018410; 05000301/2018410; INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT 07200005/2018401

Dear Mr. Craven:

On March 23, 2018, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed a Security Inspection and an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Security Inspection at your Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2. On March 27, 2018, the NRC inspector discussed the results of this inspection with M and other members of your staff. The results of this inspection are documented in the enclosed report.

The NRC inspector did not identify any finding or violation of more-than-minor significance.

This letter and its enclosure will be made available for public inspection and copying at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.htm and at the NRC Public Document Room in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 2.390, Public Inspections, Exemptions, Requests for Withholding.

SUMMARY

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) continued monitoring licensees performance by conducting a Security Baseline Inspection at Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2, in accordance with the Reactor Oversight Process. The Reactor Oversight Process is the NRCs program for overseeing the safe operation of commercial nuclear power reactors. INSPECTION SCOPES

Inspections were conducted using the appropriate portions of the inspection procedures in effect at the beginning of the inspection unless otherwise noted. Samples were declared complete when the inspection procedure requirements most appropriate to the inspection activity were met consistent with Inspection Manual Chapter 2515, Light-Water Reactor Inspection Program-Operations Phase, and Inspection Manual Chapter 2690, Inspection Program for Dry Storage of Spent Reactor Fuel at Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations And for 10 CFR Part 71 Transportation Packagings. The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel to assess licensee performance and compliance with Commission rules and regulations, license conditions, site procedures, and standards.
