GINNA NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - NRC INDEPENDENT SPENT FUEL STORAGE SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NO. 05000244/2010404

Dear Mr. Carlin:

Between August 2-23,2010, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) performed an Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation (ISFSI) security inspection at the R.E Ginna Nuclear Power Plant in Ontario, New York. Additional information was reviewed in office on August 9,2010. The inspection covered the NRC's Additional Security Measures (ASMs) for the Physical Protection of Dry Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installations. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection results, which were discussed with Jared Jackson, ISFSI Licensing Engineer on August 23, 2010.

The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to security and compliance with the Commission's rules and regulations and with the conditions of your licenses. The inspector reviewed selected procedures and records, observed activities, and interviewed personnel.

Based on the results of this inspection, no findings were identified.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the

'PubliclyAvaiiable Records (PARS}component of NRC's document system; ADAMS, ADAMS *is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html(the Public Electronic Reading Room). However, because of the security-related information contained in the enclosure, and in accordance with 10 CFR 2.390, a copy of this letter's enclosure will not be available for public inspection.

Enclosure Contains Sensitive Unclassified Non*Safeguards Information. When separated from enclosure. this transmittal document is decontrolled.
