This refers to tha inspection conducted by Mr. J. R. Creed of this office on August 18-20, 1976, of activities at Big Rock Point Nuclear Power Station kuthorized by NP4 Licensa No. DPR-6 and to the discussion cf our findings with Hessrs. Abel and DaFoe at the conclusion of the,inspec-tion.
The enclosed copy of our inspection report identifies areas enemmined during the inspection. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of a selective ~*-h= tion of procedures and representative records, observations, and intarviews with personnel.

D. ring this inspection, certain of your activities appeared to be in noncomp14mnea with NRC requirements and are repeat in nature. They are described under Enforcenent Items in the Sin===vy of P4=14"gm section of the enclosed inapection report.
This notice is sent to you pursuant to the provisions of Section 2.201 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2, Title 10, code of Pederal Regulations. Section 2.201 requires you to subnit to this offies within twenty days of your receipt of this notice a written statement or explanation in reply, l
including for each item of -u gliances (!) corrective actica emiren and the results achieved; (2) corrective ac. tion to be taken to avoid further noncomp14mnee; and (3) the date l
when full compliance will be achieved.
It is our understanding that testing of certain equipment vill be accomplished at the frequency described in the Management Interview section of the Senaery of Pindings. If this understanding is not correct, please so advise this office.
