In the Reference 1 letter, Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) committed to provide an update to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on the status of the efforts to permit the scheduling of the preventive maintenance (PM) for the Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) 6.9 kilovolt (kV) and 480 Volt (V) shutdown boards (SDBs) for Units 1 and 2 with one unit in Mode 5 or 6 or defueled and the other unit in Mode 1, 2, 3, or 4.

TVA provided the last status update in Reference 2, and included a commitment to provide another update of the information by March 31, 2017. This letter satisfies the commitment stated in Reference 2.

TVA completed SDB maintenance on SQN Unit 1 A-train during the fall 2016 refueling outage.

No significant issues were identified. Sequoyah Nuclear Plant Unit 2 A-train SDB maintenance is scheduled to be performed during the spring 2017 refueling outage. Shutdown Board maintenance on B-train is scheduled for spring 2018 refueling outage on Unit 1 and fall 2018 refueling outage on Unit 2. As a result, this is the final status update letter.
