VICE PREllDENT NUCLEAR OPERATIONS U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Washington, D. C. 20555 Attention: Mr. Harold R. Denton, Director

Dear Mr. Denton:

SUBJECT:

Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 Docket No. 50-416 License No. NPF-29 File: 0260/0840/L-860.0 Errata to Proposed TS Changes -

Maximum Extended Operating Domain AECM-86/0253

Reference:

Letter to Harold R. Denton from 0. D. Kingsley, Jr., Mississippi Power & Light Company, May 2, 1986 (AECM-86/0129)

As discussed with your staff, Technical Specification (TS) changes ptoposed in the referenced letter are not consistent with Description (item 10), and Justification (item 10). Table 3.3.5-2 on p. 3/4 3-55 of the TS markup inadvertently omitted changes to the control rod block l

instrumentation setpoint and allowable value associated with reactor coolant l recirculation flow.

The subject rod block trip setpoint (item 6) should be 111%_ consistent with the above noted sections. Further, the Allowable Value should be 114%,

l consistent with GE Table 15.D.12-1 on p. 15.D.12-2 of the supporting analysis report which is included in the referenced submittal.

This is considered an editorial correction to the proposed license amendment. The attached errata is requested to be incorporated into the amendment.

If you have any questions, please contact Yosi Balas at (601) 949-9214.
