GNRO-96/00096 Gentlemen:

Entergy Operations, Inc. is submitting by this letter a revision to a proposed amendment to the Grand Gulf Nuclear Station (GGNS) Operating License. During a phone conversation with the Staff it was realized sthat the r6 quested Technical Specification changes should be clarified.

Therefore, the attached pages of the requested Technical Specifications are modified to clearly reflect the relationship of the Technical Specifications required relief-mode actuator testing frequency and the Intervice Testing Program and remove the unneeded addition of the word

" required' to SR 3.5.1.7 and SR 3.6.1.6.1. Also, attached are the needed clarifications to the Technical Specification Bases pages which will be implemenated following approval of the proposed Technical Specification change- This letteris a page replacement of the Technical Specification and Technical Specificatior. cases proposed in the referenced letter.

This revision to the proposed Technical Specification changes has no affect on the proposed ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Relief Request for the GGNS Inservice Testing program that was originally proposed in the referenced letter. The purpose of the changes made to the proposed Technical Specifications is to ensure that the Technical Specifications -

and the Inservice Testing Program do not conflict and that the Technical Specifications clearly .(
