Pursuant to the requirements of 10CFR50.55a, the attached Inservice Inspection (ISI)

Summary Report for ASME Class 1, 2 and 3 pressure retaining components and their supports for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 1 (ANO-1) is provided for your information.

The results presented by this letter are representative of inspections performed up to and including refueling outage 1R20 during the third inspection period of the third ten-year inspection interval. This submittal is provided in accordance with ASME Section XI and Code Case N-532-1. Attachment 1 provides ASME form OAR-1 "Owner's Activity Report" plus tables that present: (1) an abstract of examinations and tests, (2) conditions requiring evaluation and (3) actions necessary for continued service.

Due to the scope and complexity of the major modifications performed in recent refueling outages, additional information remains to be incorporated into Table 1 (see Table 1, footnote 2). This summary report reflects modifications performed at ANO-1 that included replacement of both steam generators and replacement of the reactor vessel closure head, as well as other substantial design changes. As a result of the unusually large magnitude of administrative requirements associated with these modifications, and workload estimates for processing the final closure of related Entergy and vendor engineering packages, a follow-up revision to Table 1 will be necessary in order to submit the remaining information regarding the progress of examinations in certain categories for the current interval and period.

A new commitment contained in this submittal is summarized in Attachment 2.
