Docket No. 50-361 30-Day Report Licensee Event Report No.83-014 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station, Unit 2 Pursuant to Section 6.9.1.13.b of Appendix A, Technical Specifications to Facility Operating License NPF-10 for San Onofre, Unit 2, this submittal provides the required 30-day written report and a copy of the Licensee Eveat Report (LER) form for an occurrence involving Limiting Condition for Operation (LCO) 3.1.3.1 associated with the Control Element Assemblies (CEA's).

Enclosed LER 83-014 addresses this event, including corrective actions and measures to prevent recurrence.

Following slippage of CEA 79 at 1456 and entrance into LC0 3.1.3.1, Action Statement

'c', actions were immediately initiated to return the inoperable CEA to operable status within one hour.

Additionally, the shutdown margin was verified to be greater than 5.15% delta k/k. After the slippage of CEA 86 at 1523, LC0 3.1.3.1, Action Statement

'b', was also invoked. The shutdown margin was again verified.

Action Statement

'b' was exited at 1531, but Action Statement 'c' was still applicable.

The plant was taken to Mode 3 at 1542, thus exiting Action Statement 'c'.
