Alyse, The NRC staff is preparing to issue the following license amendment regarding James A.

FitzPatrick Power Plant. A brief description of the license amendment request (LAR) is provided below. Additional information can be found in the licensees submittal which is also referenced below by ADAMS Accession No.

Please let me know if you have any comments or questions regarding this licensing action by October 22, 2018, if possible. My current projection for issuance of the amendment is December 12, 2018.

JAMES A. FITZPATRICK NUCLEAR POWER PLANT - ISSUANCE OF AMENDMENT RE:

REVISION TO THE EMERGENCY ACTION LEVEL SCHEMES PURSUANT TO NEI 99-01, REVISION 6. (EPID L-2018-LLA-0032)

Application date: January 31, 2018 (ML18037A782), supplemented by letter dated July 12, 2018 (ML18194A252).

Brief

Description:

The amendment would revise the emergency plan for the James A.

FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant by changing the emergency action level schemes to those based on the Nuclear Energy Institutes guidance in NEI 99-01, Revision 6, Development of Emergency Action Levels for Non-Passive Reactors, which was endorsed by the U.S.

Nuclear Energy Commission (NRC) by letter dated March 28, 2013. The NRC issued a proposed finding that the amendment involves no significant hazards consideration in the Federal Register on July 17, 2018 (83 FR 33267) (Link). The NRC has not received any public comment or requests for hearing on this LAR.
