NARRATIVE

REPORT Georgia Power Company Plant E. I. Natch Baxley, Georgia 31513 Reportable Occurrence Report No. 50-321/1980-084.

With' the unit at steady state operation, at 93% power, and performing HNP-1-3167, RHR Service ~llater Pump Operability, RHR service water flow indication for the "B" RHR service water loop, was observed to be swinging excessively.

The "B" RilR ser-vice water loop was declared inop.

The "A" loop was operable at the time.

The cause of this event was a faulty amplifier in 1E11-N007B, RHR service water flow transmitter.

The amplifier was replaced and the transmitter was recalibrated per llNP-1-5210, GEMAC 555 and 556 Calibration.

HNP.1-3167 was then run satis-factorily.

No significant occurrences took place as a result of this event.

This is not a repetitive event.

There were no effects upon public health and safety due to this event.

This type of transmitter is not used on the "A" locp of RHR service water on Unit I nor~ is it used in this application on Unit II.

The unit is now in full compliance with the requirements and no further reporting is required.
