Identification of Occurrence:

Reactor Building Pressure. Indicator was inoperable contrary to Technical Specification 3.3.3.6.

Conditions Prior to Occurrence:

Mode 3 Description of Occurrence:

At 0617 during-routine shutdown operation,it was determined that Reactor Building Pressure Indicator BS-17-PI was not indicating correctly. Maintenance was initiated,and operability; was restored at 1030.

Designation of Apparent Cause:

The cause of this event is attributed to instrument drift'.

Analysis of Occurrence:

Redundancy was provided by Reactor Building Pressure Indicator BS-16-PI.

There was no effect upon the health or safety of the general public.

Corrective Action

The instrument was recalibrated,and the functional test was satisfactory. A modification'(REI 80-7-4) is'being developed for replacement of Reactor Building Pressure Transmitters.

Failure Data:

This was the first occurrence for BS-17-PI,and this is the third event reported under this specification.
