Non-acceptance of Clinton Request for Partial Site Release Hi Ken, By letter dated June 7, 2023, Constellation Energy Generation, LLC (CEG) submitted a request for approval for a partial release of the Clinton Power Station, Unit 1, site. The purpose of this letter is to provide the results of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staffs acceptance review of this request. The acceptance review was performed to determine if there is sufficient technical information in scope and depth to allow the NRC staff to complete its detailed technical review. The acceptance review is also intended to identify whether the application has any readily apparent information insufficiencies in its characterization of the regulatory requirements or the licensing basis of the plant.

Consistent with Section 50.83 (b)(5) of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), a request for release of non-impacted areas must include a discussion that provides the reasons for concluding that the environmental impacts associated with the licensee's proposed release of the property will be bounded by appropriate previously issued environmental impact statements.

The NRC staff has reviewed your application and concluded that the information required by 10 CFR 50.83 (b)(5) was not included in your June 7,2023, letter.
