AMENDMENT NO. 9 TO CERTIFICATE OF COMPLIANCE NO. 1015
Dear Wren Fowler:
As requested by your application dated July 30, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML21222A017), enclosed is amendment No. 9 to the Certificate of Compliance No. 1015 for the NAC-UMS storage system.
This amended certificate, issued by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) constitutes the approval and conditions for use of the NAC-UMS storage system for storage of spent nuclear fuel under the general license provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 72, Subparts K and L.
Amendment No. 9 to the Certificate of Compliance No. 1015 revises the NAC-UMS certificate to correct the effective thermal properties for pressurized-water reactor fuel assemblies used in the certification basis ANSYS thermal models and update some modeling assumptions. This rulemaking also corrects appendix B to the technical specifications for amendment No. 8.
As stated in the Federal Register (87 FR 35858, June 14, 2022), the effective date of this certificate is August 29, 2022. The NRC safety evaluation report for this amended certificate (including the technical specifications) is enclosed.
