AMENDMENT TO FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Amendment No.14 Licensee No. R-97
- 1. The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission) has found that:
A. The application filed by the Georgia Institute of Technology (the licensee), dated July 1,1998, as supplemented on February 8, and May 28,1999, complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the regulations of the Commission as stated in 10 CFR Chapter I; l
B. The facility will be maintained in conformity with the application, the provisions of the Act, and the rules and regulations of the Commission:
C. There is reasonable assurance (i) that the activities authorized by this amendment can be conducted without endangering the health and safety of the public and (ii) that such activities will be conducted in compliance with the rules and regulations of the Commission; D. The issuance of this amendment will not be inimical to the common defense and security or to the health and safety of the public; i E. This amendment is issued in accordance with 10 CFR Part 51 of the regulations of l the Commission and all applicable requirements have been satisfied; and F. Prior notice of this amendment was not required by 10 CFR 2.105 and publication of notice for this amendment is not required by 10 CFR 2.106.

- 2. Accordingly, the license is amended to approve the decommissioning plan described in the licensee's application dated July 1,1998, as supplemented on February 8, and May 28,1999, and authorizes inclusion of the decommissioning plan as a supplement to the Safety Analysis Report or equivalent pursuant to 10 CFR 50.82(b)(5). Also, the license is further amended by changes to paragraph 2.A to read as follows:
2.A. This license applies to the Georgia Tech Research Reactor (the facility) owned by the Georgia Institute of Technology. The facility is located on the licensee's campus in Atlanta, Georgia, and is described in the application dated July 1, 1998, as supplemented on February 8, and May 28,1999. The Georgia Institute of Technology is authorized to decommission the facility in accordance with this application and supplement.
- 3. This license amendment is effective on the date of issuance.
