February 5, 1991 Request to Amend GTRR License, Docket No. 50-160, License No. R-97 Pursuant to telephone conversation with you yesterday, May 14, 1991, and in addition to our request of February 5, 1991, to amend the organizational chart, Figure 6.1, Page 39 of the Technical Specifications, we further request that Technical Specification 6.1.b which states:
"A Radiological Safety Officer, who is organizationally independent of the GTRR ope ations staff, shall advise the
- Director, Nuclear Research Center in matters pertaining to radiological safety at the GTRR."
be changed to:
The Manager, Of fice of Radiation Safety, shall advise the Director, Nuclear Research center in matters pertaining to radiological safety.
She/he has access to the vico-President, Interdisciplinary Programs and/or the President of the Institute as needed.
A "new" page 38 of the Technical Specifications incorporating the above change is appended as Attachment A.
The Neely Nuclear Research Center has fifty seven (57) approved radiation protection procedures.
A list of these procedures is appended as Attachment B.
These procedures are audited on an annual basis by the independent Nuclear Safeguard Committee.
