On behalf of the Georgia Institute of Technology, I hereby apply to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to amend Facility Operating License No.'97 as follows:
A. License Section 2.B. (2) change from:
"P u r suant to the Act and 10 CFR Part 70, "Special Nuclear Material," to receive, possess and use at any one time in connection with operation of the reactor up to 13.5 kilo-grams of contained uraniun 235;" to:
Pursuant to the Act and 10 CFR Part 70, "Special Nuclear Material," to receive, possess,-and use at any one time in connection with operation of the reactor up to 13.5 kilograms of contained uranium 235; and to roccive and possess, but not to use, up to 700 grams of U-235 at an enrichment less than 20% contained in the core and control rods of the AGN 201 reactor, Facility Operating License
'No. R-lll, Docket No. 50-276.
Justification:
The change in the license would allow Georgia Tech to
-store the AGN 201 fuel in the GTRR vault. The AGN has not been used since 1979 and an application for its decommissioning with the U.S.N.R.C. has been filed.
