| Title | Review of Root Cause Evaluation for March 6, 2012, Notice of Unusual Event |
| Description | On March 6, 2012, operations personnel declared a Notice of Unusual Event due to receiving an indication that Unit 2 RCS leakage was greater than 10 gallons per minute. The inspectors were in the control room when the event was declared. The inspectors observed the operators respond to the event to ensure that the licensees procedural requirements were followed. The inspectors also monitored available control room indications to determine whether any equipment complications occurred while the operators were responding to the event. None were identified. The inspectors initial review of this event determined that a leak in the RCS had not occurred. However, it appeared that the procedures used to drain a portion of the RCS and the Unit 2 reactor head vent piping may be deficient. Both the inspectors and the licensees review of this event were ongoing at the conclusion of the inspection period. As a result, this item will be carried as a URI pending the inspectors review of the licensees root cause evaluation report and the proposed corrective actions |
