ER0f95LD_(H8NGE TO TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

[QRIAlWENT INTEGRATED LEAKRATE 1EST SCHEDULE Parsuant to 10CFR50.90, the Virginia Electric and Power Company requests an amendment, in the form of a change to the Technical Specifications, to Operating License NPF-4 for North Anna Power Station Unit 1.

The proposed amendment would modify the requirement of Technical Specification 4.5.1.2a to conduct Type A test at 40 10 month intervals during each 10-year service period. The last Type A test was performed on this unit on September 11, 1984, causing the next testing date to become due on or before No.2mber 11, 1988. Technical Specificition 4.6.1.2a also requires the third Type A test of the service period to be conducted during the shutdown for the 10 year plant inservice inspection. The 10 year inservice inspection is currently scheduled to be conducted during the refueling outage comencing in February 1989. Virginia Electric and Power Company proposes to amend the Technical Specification to conduct the third Type A test of the first 10 year service period during the 1989 Refueling /10-year ISI Outage.

The proposed Technical Specification change is provided in Attachment 1. A Safety Evaluation is provided in Attachment 2.

This request has been reviewed and approved by the Station Nuclear Sa'ety and Operating Comittee and the Safety Evaluation and Control Staff. It has been determined that the change does not involve an unreviewed safety question as defined in 10CFR50.59 or a significant hazards consideration as defined in 10CFR50.92.
