July 1, 2020 NOTICE OF PUBLIC MEETING Licensees: Northern States Power Company, Minnesota Facilities: Prairie Island Nuclear Generating Plant Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant Docket Nos: 50-282, 50-306, and 72-010 (Prairie Island);

50-263 (Monticello)

Date/ Time: Thursday, July 16, 2020 4:00 p.m. CDT Location: Webinar (advance registration required)

Purpose:

The NRC staff will host a webinar to present the NRCs assessment of safety performance at Prairie Island and Monticello for 2019, as described in the 2019 annual assessment letters. Following the presentation, the NRC will respond to questions specific to the safety performance of the stations and the NRCs role in ensuring safe plant operations.

NRC Attendees: H. Peterson, Chief, Division of Reactor Projects (DRP), Branch 3 N. Shah, Senior Project Engineer, DRP, Branch 3 L. Haeg, Senior Resident Inspector, Prairie Island R. Elliott, Senior Resident Inspector (Acting), Monticello D. Krause, Resident Inspector, Monticello R. Kuntz, Senior Project Manager, NRR Public Participation: This is a Category 3 Meeting. The webinar will begin with a presentation by NRC staff on the NRCs assessment of performance for the sites during 2019. Then, following the presentation, members of the public will have the opportunity to ask questions specific to the safety performance and the NRCs role in ensuring safe plant operations. Those wishing to submit questions can do so in writing or verbally during the webinar. The NRC staff will provide guidance during the webinar on the methods

available to ask a question. Alternatively, questions may be submitted in advance to Hironori.Peterson@nrc.gov.

Interested members of the public must register at the internet address below to see the visual portion of the presentation. In addition, Interested members of the public must call in at 800-857-9762 and (passcode 4517947) in order to hear the audio portion of the presentation because the video portion of the presentation will have no sound. After registering, a confirmation email will be sent with details for joining the webinar. This is a virtual public meeting where participants will be able to see the presentation on a computer screen and hear the presenters through their telephone. There is also the option to join via phone only by calling in to the number above.
