In accordance with Technical Specification 5.6.3, Enclosure 1 contains the Monthly Operating Report for May 2004 for the Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2.

Reference 1 is a revision to the outage hours on the April Monthly Operating Report for Unit 1. Enclosure 2 contains the revised operating report for Unit 1.

This letter contains no new commitments and revisions to existing commitments.

SUMMARY

Unit 2 average daily power for the month of May was 436.9 MWe.

Unit 2 was taken off line on May 15 after a diver was drawn towards the plant intake structure in Lake Michigan while performing scheduled inspections.

There was one LER issued in May for unit 2; LER 2004-001-00, Safety Injection System Accumulator Operated With Fluid Level Out Of Specification High.

SUMMMARY:

While preparing to inspect the Unit 1 Steam Generator on Friday April 9, 2004, the scheduled sequence for Steam Generator nozzle dam installation was not followed.

There were no LERs for Unit 1 in the month of April.
