SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES ,

liighlights Vermont Yankee operated at 88.19% of rated Gross electrical generation was350,602 MWH thermal.14% of design electricalor 87 capacity.

Operating Summary The following is a chronological description of plant operations including other pertinent items of interest for the month:

At the beginning of the reporting period the plant was operating at 99.8% of rated thermal power.

821010 At 0030 hrs. a power reduction was initiated for a control rod pattern adjustment and turbine surveillance.

821010 At 0300 hrs. a return to full power was started.

821014 At 0030 hrs, a manual shutdown of the plant was initiated for the repair of a steam Icak (See Unit Shutdowns and Power Reductions).

821014 At 0311 hrs, the turbine generator was removed from the grid. ,

821014 At 0328 hrs, the; reactor was manually scrammed.

821016 At 1024 hrs. a reactor startup was initiated.

821016 At 1137 hrs. the reactor was critical.

821016 At 2331 hrs. the turbine generator,was phased to the grid. ,

821030 At 0030 hrs. a power reduction was initiated for a control rod ,

pattern adjustment.

821030 At 0243 hrs. a return to full power was started.

At the end of the reporting period, the plant was operating at 99.89% of rated thermal power.
