N"eal Miller FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE E:xelon Nuclear 815-417-3184 Exclon to Update Tritium Project at Community Information Night BRACEVILLE, 111. (Feb. 14, 2006)- On Tuesday, Feb. 28, Exelon will host a Community Information Night. The event is open to the public and will update area residents and provide facts on the tritiurn groundwater issue at Braidwood Generating Station. The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Exelon's Services and Training Center, located on Essex Rd. about three miles south of Rt. 113 in Wilmington, Ill.

Exelon representatives, technical experts and officials from state agencies will be on hand to provide information, review tritium location maps and answer questions on a one-on-one basis with attendees. Gineral information about Braidwood Station and nuclear power will also be presented.

Instructors ar: the training center will lead tours of the simulator, a replica of Braidwood Station's Control Room where operator training is conducted, to provide the public with a sense of what happens inside the plant. There will also be take away information and refreshments served.

'This issue does not present a health or safety threat to our neighbors, and we are committed to Qk} -eping the 1)ublic informed," said Exelon Nuclear Vice President Keith Polson, the station's senior cxecutive. "The information night is just one of many ways of doing this."

As part of its extensive outreach program, Exclon launched a website and a Community Relations Hotline. The hotline provides a brief status update and also serves as a forum for Exelon to field community questions- Exelon representatives are committed to returning resident calls in a timely fashion. The website address is www.braidwoodrritiumninfo and contains a wealth of useful information including fact sheets, maps, and federal and state agency contact information. In addition, several key Environmental Protection Agency documents are available including the agency's fact sheet on tritium and the notice of violation issued to Exelon in December 2005. Exelon's response to the notice of violation along and all news releases related to this issue are also available.
