Draft RAIs for UMLRR license renewal Date: Wednesday, September 19, 2018 3:37:00 PM Attachments: UML RAIs 9.19.18 draft.pdf
- Leo, By letter dated October 20, 2015 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML16042A105), as supplemented, the University of Massachusetts at Lowell (UML) submitted its Safety Analysis Report (SAR) for the renewal of Facility Operating License No. R-98 for the UML Research Reactor for U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) review.
In the course of reviewing UMLs SAR, as supplemented, the NRC staff has determined that additional information is required to complete its evaluation. This information is necessary to demonstrate UMLs compliance with the regulations contained in Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations.
Therefore, the NRC staff has prepared the attached draft request for additional information (RAI). We are providing a copy of this draft, prior to formally transmitting the RAI, to provide UML with an opportunity to review the draft to ensure the RAI is clear and understandable. So that UML has time to review the draft, we will wait at least 15 days from the date of this email before formally transmitting the RAI. If you have any questions regarding the draft RAI, please contact me and we can arrange a time to discuss. I would also request that you please contact me after you have reviewed the RAI in order to discuss an appropriate response time for the RAI.
Please note that, because the RAI is still a draft, changes to the document before it is formally transmitted to UML are possible.
This email, and the attachment, will be placed in public ADAMS.
