Subject:

Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 - Additional Information Required Day ResponseLetter re: 50.54(f) Letter in Support of NTTF Recommendation 9.3 Mr. Hennessy:

The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has been reviewing the 60-day response letters regarding the subject letters.

The NRC staff has determined that NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC, did not provide theneeded information to make a determination regarding the adequacy of their proposed alternate course of action.

Specifically, an estimated date for the second refueling outage is needed regarding the 60-day response letter for the 50.54(f) letters in support of the Near Term Task Force (NTTF) Recommendation 9.3.

This date is needed forrequest numbers 1, 2 and 6, and if discussed in the basis should be provided in the basis for the alternative course of action.

Without the date, the NRC staff cannot conclude that the phase 2 staffing would be completed to meetthe order for NTTF Recommendation 4.2.

As we are attempting to respond to the 60-day response letters before the 90-day response, the NRC staff would like to have an estimated date for the second refueling outage as discussed in your response as soon as possible, followed by a letter on the docket by June 6, 2012, if

possible.

Please don't hesitate contacting me if you have any questions or concerns.
