Regarding the scripts used for verbal authorization of the alternative to ASME Code requirements, use ADAMS Accession Number ML11259A232 for direct access to the text of the scripts used during the conference call. The document is profiled as publically available and non-sensitive. Therefore, contact me if you are unable to access it. For access by ADAMS "simple" search, the following set of entries should also yield the same

= "05000331" Case or Reference Number = "TAC ME5143" [The single space separating the two parts of the case number is important to the retrieval of the document.]

Regarding the December 5, 2010, email and telecom refer enced in your message, there originally were six draft Request for Additional Information (RAI) items conveyed by the email, the first item in the list of the six was determined to be redundant, whereupon the items were renumbered (RAI Item 2 became 1, 3 became 2,- and 6 became 5). The five remaining items were finalized in the conference call referred to by the licensee as the telecon. In its letter dated December 7, 2010 (ML103410547

), the licensee replicated the five RAI items with the proper numbering, which placed this information on the docket. Since the December 7, 2010, letter accurately documented the final five RAI items as headings to the responses, no separate record was made of the draft version contained in the email.

Finally, during my telephone conversation with you, I provided the ADAMS Accession Number (ML11237A105) for the Letter dated September 6, 2011, which contained the Safety Evaluation for the subject verbal authorization.

Should you need clarification of this information, please contact me by either telephone or email. If you need to enquire about these documents in the future with another person, reference to the TAC number ME5143 will speed the effort to provide information to you.

In a letter dated December 7, 2010 (ML103410547), the Duane Arnold Energy Center makes the following reference -

"In an email and telecon dated December 5, 2010, the Staff issued a request for additional information regarding the referenced letter (dated December 4, 2010 - ML103400074). The response to this request for additional information is provided in the enclosure. Verbal approval was provided for the request of the referenced letter on December 5, 2010; however NextEra Energy Duane Arnold, LLC agreed to provide the information in the enclosure as discussed in the telecon of December 5, 2010." The December 5, email and telecom are not available in ADAMs, nor is the December 5 verbal approval. Would it be possible for you to send me a copy of those documents or see that they get released to ADAMs? Thank You,
