DOCKETING OF THREE MILE ISLAND UNIT 1 PRA GPU Nuclear has delevered a Level I Probabilistic Risk Analysis (PRA) for TMI Unit 1 to the NRC for information and review. See attached letter of transmittal dated December 7,1987. This document is very large (7 volumes) and should be docketed since the staff does plan to review it (even though it is not a regulatory requirement) . Due to the large size (volume) of the document. I request that it receive limited distribution to only those individuals needing a copy in order to minimize reproduction costs. Therefore, please limit distribution to the following personnel:

Operating License No. DPR-50 Docket No. 50-289 Reproduction of the TMI-l PRA l By letter dated December 7, 1987 (5211-87-2157) GPUN forwarded copies of the THI-l PRA for NRC review. Later two additional copies were provided for use by NRC's consultant reviewing the PRA.

GPUN has been requested to permit further duplication of the PRA for the consultant's internal use in performing the PRA review. As you are aware, the TMI-l PRA is copyrighted by GPU Nuclear. As such permission for copying must be granted by GPU Nuclear.

GPUN grants limited copying permission to the NRC and its contractor reviewing the TMI-l PRA. Sufficient copies may be made for internal use by NRC and its contractor provided these copies are not released outside of the NRC or contractor's control without further GPUN permission.
